Developed and managed by The Howard Hughes Corporation, the 302-room hotel introduces a refined destination for wellness and renewal to the Houston area. Situated in the heart of Town Center, the hotel serves as an anchor for the Waterway Square district and represents a milestone in The Woodlands’ evolution as a nationally recognized business and leisure destination.

The hotel boasts dramatic interiors by Dallas-based waldrop+nichols studio that complements the architecture. The 13-story building’s crisp stone and glass façade and the lustrous lobby set a tone of discovery and create a glamorous sense of arrival.

Immediately drawing the eye, a custom, overhead lighting feature flows through the core of the hotel on a meandering path from the hotel entrance to the 15,000-square-foot, waterfront meetings and events level, one floor below. Along its route is the vibrant Lobby Bar and chic CURRENT, a signature restaurant concept by The Howard Hughes Corporation.

Helmed by rising star, Chef de Cuisine Nathan Friend, 150-seat CURRENT invites food lovers to “Eat Well” with seasonally changing and regionally sourced menus. Oriented around a sculptural tree element flanked by two community tables, the light and airy 150-seat restaurant encompasses an open kitchen, chef’s table, wine room and private dining room. Favorite dishes among diners are Chef Nathan’s crab cakes, Niman Chicken (chicken comes directly from Niman Ranch) and sea scallop.

In addition to eating well, there’s no better place in The Woodlands to “Play Well” than sultry SideBar. The sleek, second-level lounge shares an entrance off Waterway Square with CURRENT.

The Woodlands Waterway is a picturesque, tree-lined canal and path system adjacent to the popular public plaza that links a number of key business and leisure attractions.

Home to approximately 112,000 residents and over 2,200 businesses, The Woodlands has emerged as one of the fastest growing areas in the country, while earning accolades for its pedestrian-centric urban core, architectural standards, preservation of natural resources and quality of life. Adding to the year-round appeal are a robust calendar of events and a wealth of recreational offerings, including more than 200 miles of hike and bike trails, 140 parks and 135 holes of golf.

Visitors had a chance to enjoy it all at the hotel’s official VIP grand opening party on April 15. The evening was overflowing with plenty of food, signature spring cocktails, a live band and a guests livening up the dance floor, which leaves no question as to where anyone should hold their next function.
