Westfield High School student injured after falling off hood of moving car

SPRING, Texas – A student at Westfield High School injured himself Tuesday after he fell off the hood of a moving car, according to the Spring Independent School District.

The driver of the vehicle, also a Westfield student, has been arrested and is charged with failing to stop and render aid.

Officials said the accident happened around 1:45 p.m. on a street between Westfield High School and the Westfield Athletic Complex.

Authorities said the student hit his head on the street.

Spring ISD released a statement about the accident, which read in part, "Spring ISD Police Department and EMS were called immediately and the student has been transported to Houston Memorial North accompanied by school administration. The car that the student was riding on top of did leave the scene. The Spring ISD Police Department is conducting an investigation."
