Man drives drunk into 'Report Drunk Drivers' sign

57-year-old charged with DUI

A California man was arrested after he crashed his jeep into a "REPORT DRUNK DRIVERS" sign--while driving drunk.

Local station KSBW reports Stephen DeWitt, 57, was "quite intoxicated" when he flipped his jeep, landing it on its roof. The responding officers said if DeWitt hadn't been wearing his seatbelt, he could have been killed in the wreck.

DeWitt was charged with a DUI and flown to a trauma center.

"Don't drink and drive, it's just not worth it," California Highway Patrol Santa Cruz wrong on its Facebook page.
