HOUSTON - Did you spend hours sitting at Robertson Stadium to cheer on the Houston Cougars? A seat from the stadium could soon be yours.

The University of Houston Athletics Department is auctioning off some of the seats from the stadium that is in the process of being demolished.

The auction begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday and runs through noon on Dec. 14 on UHCougars.com.

The university is selling the standalone seats from the concourse seating areas. The seats from the seating bowl won't be sold because rows of seats in that area share a single support mount, so they can't be broken up.

Thirty-five individual seats will be offered with a starting bid of $150 each. There will be 49 double-chair sets with a starting bid of $250 per auction and four four-chair sets with a starting bid of $400 per auction. There will also be some seatbacks available for a starting bid of $100 each.

The winners will have to pick up their items at the Yeoman Fieldhouse inside the Athletics/Alumni Center from noon to 4 p.m. on Dec. 19 or from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 20. Shipping is not available.
