HOUSTON - Toll road rates are going up again.
Starting Sept. 8, the toll on Katy managed lanes will increase by $1 at peak hours.
Rates on the Sam Houston Tollway, Westpark Tollway, Hardy Tollway and Fort Bend Parkway are also set to go up. EZ tag drivers will have to pay 10 cents more. Cash rates will go up by 25 cents.
The Harris County Toll Road Authority said the additional revenue generated will allow for maintenance and improvements. It will also fund future projects.
Tolls are set by a 2007 policy that increases rates annually by two percent or inflation, whichever is greater.
