HOUSTON – The competitions. The concerts. The food. The shopping. It all starts with one truckload of dirt.
That's what everyone who follows Rodeo Houston on Instagram saw first thing Monday morning: a post showing that first load of dirt being dropped on the NRG Stadium floor.

The caption says it all: "Good morning! Dirt rolling in to NRG Stadium can only mean one thing ... IT'S RODEO TIME!"
And #BecauseTexas we like to get things started off early. The World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest begins Thursday. There's even a pre-rodeo event for fit folks; the Rodeo Run is on Saturday.
