Woman standing outside car killed after driver smashes into her car

HOUSTON - A woman standing in front of her vehicle was killed when another driver hit her car and pushed it forward into her.

The accident happened at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Dixie and Allegheny streets. According to the Houston Police Department, two women parked a blue vehicle on the side of the road.

The driver got out of the vehicle and was standing in front of the car, attempting to walk across the road to a shopping center when, according to officers, a white car driving eastbound on Dixie hit the back of the blue car.

The blue car was pushed forward and hit the woman. She died at the scene.

The identity of the female victim, 31, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The driver of the white car was not hurt and was not found to be intoxicated, police say

No charges have been filed as the investigation is continuing.
