HOUSTON - A woman was robbed at gunpoint at a Houston university.
Rice University police said a female employee was attacked on the sidewalk north of Rice Stadium about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.
The man pointed a gun at the woman's head and demanded cash, investigators said.
"He then grabbed her pocketbook, looked inside and didn't see anything of value, and took off running," Police Chief Johnny Whitehead said.
Investigators said the man pushed the woman to the ground and he ran east.
The woman wasn't hurt, Whitehead said.
The woman reported the attack Thursday morning. The university sent out an alert to students and staff.
The man was described as black, in his 40s and 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a jogging suit with red pants and a blue top.
Anyone with information is asked to call Rice University police at 713-348-6000.
