HOUSTON - A mysterious 911 call led to a gruesome discovery in downtown Houston. Police found a burned body between two vacant buildings off of Miller Street.

Police said an anonymous person used a pay phone at a nearby gas station to call 911 around 11 p.m. Wednesday.

"Everyone look out for one another and for this to happen right here, it's sad," said neighbor, Raymond Rogers. "It's messed up, right here. We're raising our families and everything it's just sad to happen this close to me."

Police do not know who the caller is, but say he reported finding the body on the small street off of Scott Street near I-45.

Police said they have very few leads in this case.

"We don't even know the race. Very young, I'm not going to make an estimate, but it's a young female," a Houston police officer told Local 2.

Detectives said the woman was nude.

They are still trying to figure out if the woman was burned to death or if she was killed before she was set on fire.

An autopsy should help determine the cause of death and her identity.
