Woman dies after falling off hood of Jeep

Driver facing charges

SPRING - A woman died after falling from the hood of her ex-boyfriend's Jeep, according to authorities.

Harris County Sheriff Deputies said Jeremy Stanford, 34, got into an argument with his 28-year-old ex-girlfriend on Lindell and Spring Crosssing Drive Saturday morning.

Investigators said when Stanford tried to leave, the woman jumped onto the hood of his Jeep. Stanford drove away and the woman fell off the car, hitting the concrete, deputies said.

"When we arrived on location, we did find a female in the middle of the street that did have severe head trauma," said Wayne Schultz with the Harris County Sheriff's Office Precinct 4.

She was flown by medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she later died.

Investigators said they think alcohol played a major role in the fight.

Deputies said Stanford is now facing a felony driving while intoxicated charge. But investigators said more charges are possible as the investigation into the woman's death continues.

Investigators have not yet released the name of the woman who died.
