HOUSTON - Friends and relatives of the man killed at a southeast Houston apartment complex gathered Friday night for a vigil.

They lit candles and laid flowers to remember 20-year-old Demarcus Harrison, the man who leaves behind a 2-year-old son, Jayden.

"He had a good heart," said Harrison's mother, Nicole Harrison.  "He had ambitions and goals for himself."

Police say an ongoing dispute between two residents at the complex led to the fatal shooting Harrison. A second male victim was also shot, but is expected to survive.

On Wednesday, police say Louis Anthony III drove a car through the crowd after the deadly shooting at the Belarbor Apartments on Belarbor and MLK Boulevard.

It happened while police were investigating Harrison's death at the complex.

Anthony appeared in court Friday morning.

He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Investigators say Anthony is the father of a person of interest in the shooting, 18-year-old Louis Anthony IV.

At the scene, no one could explain the driver's behavior.

This is not Anthony's first time in court. The judge says he has been arrested 11 times with on two state jail felonies and five misdemeanors.
