United Airlines jet makes emergency landing at Bush Intercontinental Airport

HOUSTON - A United Airlines jet Thursday evening made an emergency landing at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Flight 58 was leaving Houston and headed to Amsterdam Thursday evening when it began having problems with Engine 2. The crew was able to get it powered by up to idle and land back at IAH.

The passengers will be put on another plane.

There are no reports of injuries.

United released a statement which read in part:

"The Boeing 777 aircraft, which was carrying 223 passengers and 15 crew, landed safely and without incident in Houston at 5:13 p.m. Our maintenance team will review the aircraft and we are re-accommodating all the customers on an alternative airplane."
