HOUSTON – The Eastex Freeway connector ramp to I-10 is back open after an overturned 18-wheeler caused it to close for several hours.
According to TxDOT, the truck carrying watermelons flipped on its side just before 5 a.m. Tuesday. None of the watermelons spilled onto the ground, but the gas tank of the truck did rupture and spill diesel fuel. The southbound connector ramp to I-10 eastbound was shut down as a result.
