HOUSTON - An off-duty deputy was hit while he was on his motorcycle directing traffic at a funeral on Saturday.
Investigators said the deputy was working an extra job and directing traffic for a funeral on Martin Luther King and Bellfort when he was struck by an Isuzu Rodeo. Police said that SUV then dragged the deputy across two lanes of traffic.
According to Houston police, the driver of the SUV failed to yield the right of way.
The deputy was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment. Police have not released any details on charges.
