HOUSTON - The Gulf Coast Task Force has arrested the man suspected of killing a pregnant woman during a robbery at a strip club.

Police say Osvaldo Fernandez-Aguilar, 23, is charged with capital murder.

The task force says Fernandez-Aguilar was arrested in Cancun, Mexico and brought back to Houston Thursday night.

Investigators say Fernandez-Aguilar confessed to killing 27-year-old Maria Lucrecia during a robbery at the Eclipse Gentlemen's Club on March 22.

According to police, he broke into the club, killed Lucrecia and then stole about $1,000 cash from the register.

Lucrecia died of blunt force trauma to the head. She was five months pregnant.

"With the U.S. Marshals' help, they contacted Mexican authorities. (Fernandez-Aguilar) was located in Cancun. He was about to board a water craft heading to Cuba," said Officer Richard Bolton with the Houston Police Department.

Police say Fernandez-Aguilar is also connected to two other robberies that happened in March. He told police he did it to feed his crack cocaine addiction.

Fernandez-Aguilar is now being held in the Harris County Jail.
