RICHMOND - Hilmar Moore's widow was sworn in as the new mayor of Richmond.

On Monday night at Richmond City Hall, Evelyn Wendt became the city's new mayor; she will serve the remainder of what would have been her late husband's term.

Moore was the mayor of Richmond for over six decades.  He first became mayor in 1949.

Moore passed away in December from natural causes at age 92.

He was the country's longest-serving mayor.
