HOUSTON - Two men are facing charges, accused of leading Houston police on three separate chases in a stolen sports car.

According to the Houston Police Department, they were finally caught when an undercover unit spotted the car early Thursday morning. The officers tried to pull the suspects over at Highway 59 near the Beltway. Police said the driver refused to stop, leading officers all the way to a dead end on Beverly Street and East 7 ½ Street in The Heights.

Officers said the two men inside the car jumped out and ran for it. An HPD helicopter and K-9 unit tracked down the suspects hiding in a nearby backyard.

Police arrested both men. Investigators said they found drugs in the car as well as stolen merchandise.

Both men will face charges for felony evading, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, drug possession and theft.
