He is facing multiple charges after allegedly smashing a truck into a Pearland CVS

PEARLAND - A man who allegedly tried to steal an ATM from a CVS pharmacy overnight is facing charges after leading police on a chase.

Pearland police say at around 3am Thursday, they received a call from an alarm company for the CVS Pharmacy located at 11600 Shadow Creek Parkway. The caller reported that a green truck had smashed into the front of the building and that four males were actively attempting to steal the ATM machine.

Officers say they located a green Ford F-150 traveling northbound on Highway 288 from Shadow Creek Parkway and attempted to stop the vehicle at 288 near Almeda Genoa.  Police say the vehicle exited the freeway then accelerated back onto the freeway attempting to evade pursuing officers.  The pursuit went north on 288, north on Highway 59 then west on I-610.

Pearland police say the driver exited the freeway and abandoned his vehicle in the 4600 block of Shreveport Blvd., then ran on foot. He was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
