PEARLAND - Police said they arrested the Houston man who robbed a bank inside a Pearland grocery store.

Pearland police said around 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, officers received an alarm from the IBC Bank located inside the HEB in the 2800 block of Business Center Drive.

As officers arrived, they saw a suspicious grey Ford Taurus leaving the parking lot.

Upon further investigation, officers at the bank learned that a lone heavy-set black man approached the tellers and handed them a note demanding money and saying he had a gun.  Tellers gave him cash and the suspect left the bank.

Police were able to locate the suspect's vehicle on northbound SH 288 exiting Almeda Genoa about 10 minutes later.  Officers stopped the vehicle and detained all three occupants.

Police identified the robbery suspect as 59-year-old Edward Grice.  He has been charged with robbery.

Officials said the driver and passenger were not charged with the robbery.
