Jonathen Santellana, 17, died in November 2013 after police say he tried to run down Rey Garza, an off-duty officer with the Navasota Police Department.

Garza said the teen was acting suspicious and when he tried to talk to Santellana, the teen took off, pinning the officer between two cars.

Investigators said Garza was forced to shoot.

Garza was placed on administrative leave during the investigation.

The Navasota Police Department plans to release a statement on Garza's status Wednesday.
