GALENA PARK, Texas - The new mayor of Galena Park is making some big changes after firing several appointed city officials. On just the second day on the job, there was already plenty of tension from two opposing sides.

The mayor wants the police chief, the city administrator and the city attorney out, and says she has he citizens on her side.

She changed the locks on the outside doors of City Hall for her safety, she said.

But after the mayor gave the order to change the locks, the commissioner gave an order to reverse that decision.

"Well actually, I think what transpired was someone was here with boxes to move him out and he said this has not gone through city council," said Lois Killough, the commissioner of the police and fire department.

"It's a sad day for the city, for the police department and the citizens. Thank you very much," said Chief Jonathan Rader, Galena Park Police Department.

Citizens chimed in saying it is sad that people who were supposed to be leading their city can not get along and communicate.
