HOUSTON - The Needville teenager that was attacked by a shark last month while swimming with his church group at Surfside Beach is out of the hospital.

Garrett Sebesta, 15, had been recovering at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital since the June 17 incident.

He was moved to Healthbridge Children's hospital Tuesday evening, in good condition.

Sebesta's family said they are very excited about this move.

According to Sebesta's family, Garrett is in good spirits and looking forward to working with the doctors and staff at Healthbridge.

He is positive about what the future holds for him and his family.

As the 15-year-old continues recovering, family and friends are organizing a fundraiser on his behalf. A Livestock Progress Show is planned for Aug. 17 at the Needville Harvest Park at 3001 Violet Street.

In addition to the livestock show, there will be barbecue plates available, live and silent auctions and live music.
