Minivan accident sends children to hospital

Officials: Two children in critical condition

HOUSTON - An accident involving a minivan sent two children to the hospital in critical condition Saturday afternoon.

Around 5 p.m. Harris County deputies said a blue Kia minivan was stopped behind another vehicle as it was making a left turn in the 23800 block of Gosling near Five Oaks in northwest Harris County.

Investigators said a pickup truck slammed into the back of the minivan, pushing it into the vehicle that was making the left turn.

Officials said two adults and three children, ages 2, 3 and 5 were inside the minivan. Two of the children were rushed to the hospital in critical condition and the others were also taken as a precaution, officials said.

Investigators said no one else was injured, and as of now, they don't suspect alcohol was involved.
