HOUSTON – A tweet from Houston's mayor may be a sign that the Thanksgiving Day parade will go on after all.
Mayor Annise Parker tweeted late Thursday night about it.
"I think we can save the Thanksgiving Day Parade. City & corporate donors stepping up. Tight sched. Have to scramble since HIF sold floats," @anniseparker's tweet read.
This comes just days after the Houston Festival Foundation said it could no longer afford the half-million dollars to produce the event.
Last year, more than 400,000 people attended the parade in downtown Houston.
