Officials said the woman returned less than an hour later, then left with the baby on a trip to Louisiana.

When she got to Lake Charles, officials said she noticed circle-shaped burn marks on the baby in several places, including the inside and outside of her legs, according to court documents. She called Bastida, who told her he'd left the blow dryer next to the baby on the bed while he went to the restroom, officials said.

Bastida has been charged with injury to a child.
