Humble woman's tires slashed

Thinks violence was act of gang retaliation

HUMBLE, Texas – An Humble woman said she thinks her tires were recently slashed by the same people who held her children up at gunpoint in December.

The single mother of two children left her home at 6 a.m. and noticed one of her tires was low.

"I got out to make a call. Then I noticed the other tire was flat. I walked around and those were flat too," she said. "I cried for a good 10 minutes then I called police."

All four tires on her Honda were slashed and she believes she knows who did it.

Last December, her children were held at gunpoint by four armed men. They stole electronics, petty cash and Christmas presents. All four were caught, arrested and charged. In fact, she was in court last week as the fourth person was sentenced.

"I think these kids were affiliated with gangs. And this was retaliation because a member got 10 years," she said.

She works as a full-time nurse but can't get to work because she doesn't have the money for four tires.

"I'll be stuck at home the next two days until payday. Until I can replace the tires, I'm going to have to buy used," she said.

A police report was filed with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
