HOUSTON - A man preparing to play soccer with friends was shot to death Monday night, Houston police said.

Around 8:45 p.m., police were called out to a field off of Bissonnet Street and Larkwood Drive.

When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old man shot to death.

Police said he was one of 8 men who were about to play a game in a field at the Oaks on Bissonnet apartment complex.

Witnesses said a dark colored, four-door sedan left the complex and drove by the field.

Someone inside the sedan rolled down a window and started firing on the men in the field.

The victim was hit an unknown number of times.  The suspect car drove off.

Police do not believe the victim was the intended target.
