Houston Zoo puts pregnant elephant on diet before she gives birth

HOUSTON – A female elephant at the Houston Zoo is pregnant and apparently has too much junk in her trunk.

Tess is six percent overweight. She is now on a walking program to help her lose weight.

Zookeepers want to make sure she's healthy before she delivers.

Six percent equates to 500 lbs. That's like a man who weighs 200 lbs. losing 12 lbs.
