Flames damage church in northeast Houston

HOUSTON - Arson investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a fire at a church in northeast Houston Monday morning.

Officials say the flames broke out just before 4 a.m., damaging the roof and ceiling of the Word for Today Missionary Baptist Church on Laura Koppe Road near Magna Street.

Houston firefighters got the fire under control quickly.

No injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
