HOUSTON - The Missouri City fire marshal is investigating a blaze that destroyed the second floor of a home in southwest Houston.
According to investigators, the fire broke out on Rittenmore Drive and Beechbend Drive early Friday morning. By the time crews arrived, flames were already shooting from the second story of the home.
Firefighters said the flames burned through the roof and damaged the second story. Crews quickly got the fire under control.
The homeowners were away when the fire sparked, but a neighbor called them and they returned to the house, said investigators.
Firefighters said no one was injured and that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
