"Similar to how the Grand Parkway is bringing physical growth and opportunity to the western boundaries of our district, Cypress Park High School will provide significant educational expansion and benefit to the residents and students of CFISD," superintendent Dr. Mark Henry said. "We look forward to serving our rapidly growing community with the opening of this new state-of-the-art high school."

The high school is under construction at F.M. 529 and Westgreen Boulevard. CFISD said it plans on opening the high school in August 2016.

CFISD released a statement that read in part:

"Designed by PBK Architects, the 592,000-square-foot facility is being built by Satterfield & Pontikes. The school will serve approximately 3,000 students and feature a three-story academic wing, community building for fine arts and indoor athletics, dining facility and central utility plant building. It will be part of a multi-campus educational village, with a middle school and elementary school planned for the future."
