Driver killed in wrong-way driving accident with 18-wheeler

BAYTOWN, Texas - A man is dead after driving the wrong way and crashing into an 18-wheeler in east Harris County.

According to the Baytown Police Department, a man was driving a white Chevy Silverado pickup truck at around 10 p.m. Friday.

The driver somehow got on the westbound feeder lanes of I-10 going eastbound.

Police say the driver then slammed head-on into an 18-wheeler going westbound.

The 25-year-old driver of the pickup truck was trapped in the truck and had to be extricated. 

He was taken to Hermann Memorial Hospital by LifeFlight in critical condition, where he later died. 

The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to an area hospital by ambulance in stable condition.
