Downtown Houston revitalization efforts underway with new museum

Grant from Union Pacific fast-tracks downtown project

HOUSTON – The City of Houston is planning to expand the downtown area.

Union Pacific donated a corporate grant Tuesday to fund a museum between the George R. Brown Convention Center and Minute Maid Park.

The Nau Center for Texas Cultural Heritage will highlight the significance of railroads in the development of Houston. Local businessman John Nau is in charge of the project's development.

With Houston set to host Super Bowl LI, officials hope to accelerate the project to have it ready by February of 2017.
