Death investigation underway after body found in Buffalo Bayou

HOUSTON - Police are investigating the death of a man who was found in the Buffalo Bayou.

Officials said a Houston police dive team recovered the man's body after he was found at 800 North York around 10:10 a.m. Monday.

Investigators said the white male had injuries to both eyes and minor cuts to his face. According to police, the victim had several unique tattoos including one of the Grim Reaper on his upper left arm, a Viking with an axe and shield on his upper right arm and a German eagle crest on his chest.

An autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.

While police continue investigating, they ask anyone with information on the man's identity to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
