Cocaine stash discovered after traffic stop, chase

HOUSTON - The Texas Department of Public Safety uncovered more than $2,000 worth of cocaine in west Houston Wednesday night.

Troopers pulled a black BMW over for speeding on Highway 6 and Briar Forest Drive.

The driver pulled over at a gas station, but jumped out of the car and ran.

Troopers, along with Houston police and Precinct 5 Constable deputies searched for the man, but could not find him.

After checking his car, they found half of a "cookie" of cocaine worth thousands of dollars on the street.
