Car almost crashes into home

HOUSTON - A car that almost crashed into a home ended upside-down in the driveway.

The rollover happened around 10:15 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 21500 block of Westcliffe Falls Drive and Park Maple Drive in southwest Harris County.

Investigators said a black Infinity was heading south on Park Maple Drive when the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to take a curve in the road.

The car flew into a parked green pickup truck at the home and police said it then landed upside-down against the garage door.

"We had just gone to bed and we heard the brakes and then an explosion. The explosion we heard was this gentleman's SUV crashing into my pickup truck," said Mike Berry, the homeowner.

According to authorities, the driver had to wait until emergency crew showed up to pry him out of the vehicle.

"The paramedics had to take him away. He was in pretty bad shape. They strapped him down and took him to the hospital," said Berry.

Officials said the man was going to be tested for possible intoxication at Memorial City Memorial Hermann Hospital.
