Bush Intercontinental Airport worker falls to his death

HPD: Victim was servicing tram when he died

HOUSTON – Police are investigating after a maintenance worker fell to his death at Bush Intercontinental Airport Tuesday night, detectives said.

HPD Homicide detectives said the victim lost his footing while he and another employee were working to clear debris from part of the train tracks near Terminal C at around 11:30 p.m.

He suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's cause of death is pending autopsy results by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Science.  Houston police say at this time, foul play is not suspected.

The identity of the 56-year-old man is pending notification of family members.

Four years ago, a contractor was killed and another person was injured when they were hit by the tram.  That accident happened near the Marriott Hotel.

In both cases, workers were performing maintenance on the tram.
