HOUSTON – The Texas Association of First Responders is holding a benefit barbeque Saturday for the Houston firefighters who were injured in the Southwest Inn motel fire in May.
The benefit is being held at the Sam Houston Race Park located at 7575 N. Sam Houston Parkway West from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event included lunch and live entertainment from Mark Jones & 20 Paces and Wes Brown.

In addition to brisket and racks of ribs for purchase, the association also offered chopped beef sandwich sack lunches and beef on a stick.
All proceeds from the sales went to benefit the injured firefighters.
