PEARLAND, Texas - Police are investigating an armored car robbery in Pearland.

A Loomis armored transport company guard was robbed while returning to the vehicle at a Walmart at 1919 North Main Street. Police say the suspect, armed with a handgun, approached the guard and forced him to the ground while another armed suspect took the bag the guard was carrying.

Both suspects, who police say are believed to be men, wore masks.

The suspects fled southbound on Main Street in a tan Ford truck, which was later recovered just south of the Walmart at a drainage ditch.

Police believe both robbers were men who wore masks and clothing that hid their identities.

Pearland police say the truck had been reported stolen from Houston approximately two weeks ago.

Although a search of that area was done with a police canine, the suspects were not located.

The investigation is ongoing.
