HOUSTON - The new iPhone is expected to allow users make credit card payments straight from their phone in some stores.

The so-called ‘mobile wallet' feature will be announced next Tuesday, according to Bloomberg News. Apple has reportedly lined up agreements with Visa, American Express and MasterCard. The company has also negotiated partnerships with banks and retailers.

Apple will use Near Field Communication to make the payments work. The iPhone's fingerprint scanner will also play a role in the system at some point. Apple has not officially commented on the ‘mobile wallet' feature.

The company is expected to announce the iPhone 6 and other new gadgets on Sept. 9.
