CONROE - Families in Conroe can download a free app to stay informed about crime.

The Conroe Police Department and BAIR Analytics have partnered to provide the RAIDS Online Mobile app.

The app includes all of the key features of Conroe's online crime map and allows residents to see recent criminal activity based on an address or their current location.

Recent crime incidents are displayed on a map or listed in a grid.  Users can click on an incident for more information or display a hotspot map based on the crimes that are currently in display.  Users can also sign up for neighborhood watch reports that automatically email any recent criminal activity on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule.

Conroe Police Department Police Chief Philip Dupuis urged residents to stay aware of crime trends in the city by utilizing the RAIDS Online program.

"RAIDS Online helps connect our agency with the community to help reduce crime and improve public safety. Crime mapping helps the public get a better idea of the crime activity in their area so they can make more informed decisions about how to stay safe," said Dupuis.

The RAIDS Online mobile app is compatible with iPhone, iPod  touch and iPad.  A version for the Android operating system is currently in development.
