4 charged in killing in parking lot

Police: Suspects may be connected to home invasions in Houston, Harris County

HOUSTON - Four people have been accused of killing a man in a parking lot in northwest Houston.

Carlos Daniel Fernandez, 18, Micheal Alexander Correa, 17, Marilyn Ashley Villarreal, 18, and a 16-year-old girl have been charged with capital murder in the death of Pedro Miguel Rosales Ramos, 32.

Houston police said Ramos was shot to death during an argument in a parking lot in the 11700 block of Hempstead Highway about 10:30 p.m. on April 4. Investigators said he was wounded in the heart.

Detectives said they were able to identify the suspects after the 16-year-old was shot during a home invasion in Harris County.

Fernandez has confessed to shooting Ramos, police said.

Investigators said Correa has confessed to being armed during the robbery and taking $2 from Ramos.

The juvenile has confessed to firing a shotgun during the robbery, but she said she did not wound anyone, police said.

Villarreal has confessed to driving the car used in the robbery, detectives said.

Investigators said the group had planned to rob prostitutes, but they came across Ramos, who was homeless, and decided to make him a target.

Police said at least some of the suspects may be connected to other robberies and home invasions in Houston and Harris County. Investigators said they would not release the suspects' mug shots because of those investigations.
