HOUSTON - Police searched early Thursday morning for three men wanted for a home invasion and shooting in southwest Houston.

The attack happened around midnight at a home on Shannon Hills Drive near Brookglade Circle.

Houston police said the intruders were wearing ski masks and had guns when they broke in to the home through a back door.

"They broke the glass door in the back, came in and one of the residents was able to hide in the bathroom. The other two residents were shot," said Frank Hernandez of the Houston Police Department.

One victim was shot in the chest.  He was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital in serious but stable condition.

The other victim was shot in the arm.  He was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital.  He is expected to recover.

The only person not hurt was the woman who hid in the bathroom.

Police said the motive is still under investigation. There was speculation that a new car bought by one of the victims may have given the robbers the impression that there was cash in the home.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
