HOUSTON - The average price for a gallon of unleaded gas in Texas is two cents lower than last week.
According to AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the average price is now $3.65. That is 20 cents less than the national average of $3.85.
In Houston, the average cost for a gallon of unleaded gas is $3.64.
Drivers in Texarkana are paying the most on average, $3.69 per gallon. Drivers in Corpus Christi, El Paso and Galveston are paying the least, $3.61 per gallon.
"All of these factors point to potentially lower prices at the pump in the weeks and months to come," AAA Texas/New Mexico Representative Doug Shupe said. "In the meantime, drivers should keep their vehicles maintained according to the manufacturer's recommendations to maximize their car or truck's fuel efficiency."
