HOUSTON – A 59- year-old woman who was reported missing on Christmas Eve was found safe just as Texas EquuSearch kicked off a search effort on Wednesday.
Barbara Ann Phillips was reported missing from the Greenspoint area of Houston on Christmas Eve. According to her family, she has a history of mental disorders.
Wednesday's major search had just started, with searchers looking through heavy brush and using ATVs, when Texas Equusearch coordinator Frank Black got a call from the Houston Police Department with good news.
"(They said) that Barbara Ann Phillips had been found safe and she is going to be reunited with family," Black said. "All I know as of now is that she was found at some psychiatric center."
With her history of mental illness, Phillips' family believes that she might have gotten lost.
"It could have been worse. But right now we are just happy about the outcome of the whole thing, that she is safe and is going to be OK," Black said.
