Texas A&M student found dead at Sigma Phi Epsilon frat house

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – A Texas A&M student was found dead at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house Tuesday, officials said.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office was called around 5:45 p.m. and told that CPR was being given to the man at the frat house in the 3900 block of Graham Road.

Deputies found Matthew Hayes, 20, lying on his bed. He was non-responsive, deputies said.

Other fraternity members told investigators they thought Hayes was asleep after last seeing him around midnight coming home from a party.

Hayes was pronounced dead at the home.

An autopsy, scheduled for Wednesday, will determine the cause of death.
