Texas 10 most-wanted sex offender arrested in California

AUSTIN – A Texas 10 most-wanted sex offender is in custody after being captured November 10 in West Hollywood, California.

54-year-old Robert Bryan Chrismon was wanted for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and parole violation.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department took Chrismon into custody without incident after a traffic stop, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety, or DPS.

He had been wanted since September 2012. 

In 1981, Chrismon was sentenced to 55 years for the kidnapping and aggravated rape of a San Antonio teen. He received an additional 10 years for the attempted stabbing of a Corpus Christi police officer during an arrest.

So far in 2016, DPS and other agencies have arrested 20 Texas 10 most-wanted fugitives, including 13 sex offenders and eight gang members.
