Teen stabbed sister in argument over clothes, makeup, police say

ODESSA, Texas – Two teenagers got into an argument over clothes and makeup, and one of them ended up in the hospital with stab wounds and the other, behind bars on an assault charge, police said.

Odessa police said the fight happened between a 14-year-old and her 16-year-old sister around 6 p.m. in the 500 block of West 5th Street.

Police say during the argument the 16-year-old grabbed a knife and began swinging it and stabbing her 14-year-old sister.

The younger teen had serious back and arm wounds, according to police. She was transported to a local hospital.

The 16-year-old sister was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was transported to the Ector County Youth Center.

There were no reports of any other injuries.
