Teen hurt after motorcycle crash with DPS trooper

MAGNOLIA, Texas – A 16-year-old boy and DPS trooper were involved in a motorcycle chase and crash in Montgomery County Tuesday night. 

According to investigators, speeds reached up to 100 mph on FM 1488 and FM 2978. The trooper was trying to get the license plate number on the teen's motorcycle when the teen suddenly braked to cut through a Valero gas station, according to troopers.

Investigators said the trooper was unable to stop and hit the motorcycle. The bike slid about 30 feet. 

The teen was treated at the scene for minor road rash. 

The back of the motorcycle  and the push bar on the trooper's vehicle were damaged. 

The case is being referred to the Montgomery County Attorney's Office for charges.
