Katy ISD student hit by vehicle along Cinco Ranch at Highway 99

FORT BEND, Texas – A 15-year-old Katy Independent School District student was hit by a vehicle Wednesday along Cinco Ranch Boulevard near Highway 99 in Fort Bend County.

The crash was reported around 6:30 a.m. and Life Flight was called.

The Cinco Ranch High School student was taken to the hospital in stable condition with a head injury.

Katy ISD released the following statement after the crash:

"Dear Cinco Ranch Junior High and Cinco Ranch High School Parents/Guardians and Staff,

"This morning, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Life Flight was called out as a student was in need of EMS assistance after being involved in an accident. The student’s parents have been contacted. 

"Please be aware that Cinco Ranch Blvd is blocked. We have additional patrols there to assist with traffic.
We wanted to make you aware of this in case there were any concerns as to why an emergency response helicopter was near the campus.

"We are hoping for a speedy recovery for this student."

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
